About the trip
Twice a year – in Spring and Autumn – we invite you to the Szczecin Lagoon to photograph hunting White-tailed Eagle together.
The Szczecin Lagoon is a unique place where during the breeding season one of the highest concentrations of white-tailed eagles occurs in Poland, and probably even in the whole of Europe. These birds have accompanied local fishermen during their catches for many years. A fishing boat on the water is a good and easy opportunity to obtain food, so the birds are accustomed to the presence of people.
A boat trip allows you to take more dynamic and interesting photos of white-tailed eagles than those that can be taken from land using hides. White-tailed eagles hunting fish, diving into the water, catching prey or flying above the water with a fish in their talons – these are just some of the frames we will try to capture during the trip.
From experience, however, we know that this is not an easy task – especially at the beginning. The action is usually very dynamic and taking a photo requires quickly coordinating several elements at the same time. To make sure everyone has enough opportunities to capture their dream shot, we increased the number of photography boat trips from three to four – which means we will spend a total of twelve hours on the water.
