Guide to Photo – Terms of Service

1. General information

The website guidetophoto.com (the “Service”) is operated by Guide to Photo Nordic, Drevevägen 19G, 705 10 Örebro, Sweden (hereinafter referred to as the “Administrator”). These Terms of Service define the rules for using the Service, including the rules for creating accounts, publishing profiles, using content, and the rights and responsibilities of the Administrator and users.

By using the Service, you accept these Terms of Service.

2. Nature of the Service

Guide to Photo is an informational and directory-based platform dedicated to photography.The Service:

  • presents profiles of photographers and creators,
  • gathers information about photography workshops, tutorials, presets, books, and photographic prints,
  • directs users to external source websites.

The Administrator is not the organizer of workshops, not the seller of products, and not a party to agreements concluded between users and photographers. All bookings, transactions, and payments are carried out outside the Service, on third-party websites.

3. Use of the Service

The Service may be used free of charge for browsing content. Users are required to:

  • use the Service in accordance with its intended purpose,
  • refrain from actions that disrupt the operation of the Service,
  • respect the rights of third parties and applicable laws.

In particular, it is prohibited to:

  • automatically collect data (scraping) without the Administrator’s consent,
  • copy or distribute Service content without a legal basis,
  • impersonate other persons or entities.

4. User accounts and profiles

The Service allows users to create an account and a creator profile. The Administrator may offer:

  • a free profile,
  • a paid (Premium) profile as a promotional and presentation service.

The scope of features available for each profile type is described within the Service. Users are responsible for the accuracy of the information provided during account registration. The Administrator reserves the right to refuse publication, edit, or remove a profile if its content violates these Terms or applicable law.

5. Content published in the Service

The Administrator makes reasonable efforts to ensure that information presented in the Service is reliable and updated on an ongoing basis, based on available source data.

Due to the nature of the Service and the fact that some information originates from external websites or materials provided by creators, certain offers, dates, or details may become outdated on the source side.

The Administrator presents photographers’ content with their consent or based on arrangements made with them, in particular regarding the publication of profiles, descriptions, and visual materials.

Content published in the Service is informational in nature and does not constitute an offer within the meaning of applicable law.

6. Quality of materials and publication standards

The Administrator reserves the right to refuse publication, edit, or temporarily hide offers, materials, or content, in particular photographs intended for presentation or photographic prints, if their technical or visual quality, in the Administrator’s assessment, does not meet the minimum presentation standards adopted by the Service.

Such a decision is intended to maintain the aesthetic, quality, and credibility standards of the Service and does not constitute an artistic evaluation of the user’s work.

7. Artificial intelligence (AI) generated content

Guide to Photo is a platform dedicated to photography and human creative work.

The Service does not accept visual content created entirely by artificial intelligence (AI), in particular images generated from start to finish by generative AI models.

This prohibition also applies to photographer profiles. It is forbidden to include any AI-generated visual content on a profile, including as a profile photo or portfolio images. Violation of this rule constitutes grounds for refusing publication or removing the profile from the Service.

The Administrator reserves the right to refuse publication or remove content that, in its assessment, violates this rule.

8. External links

The Service contains links to third-party websites. The Administrator:

  • has no control over the content published on external websites,
  • is not responsible for the terms, prices, availability, or execution of services offered by third parties,
  • is not liable for decisions made by users based on information available outside the Service.

9. Payments

Payments within the Service relate exclusively to services offered by the Administrator (e.g. Premium profiles). Detailed rules regarding payments, refunds, and complaints are set out in separate documents. The Administrator does not mediate payments between users and photographers or other third parties.

10. Administrator’s liability

The Administrator makes reasonable efforts to ensure that the Service operates continuously and securely; however, uninterrupted availability of the Service is not guaranteed. The Administrator is not liable for:

  • technical interruptions,
  • actions or omissions of third parties,
  • consequences of users’ decisions made based on information contained in the Service.

To the extent permitted by law, the Administrator’s liability is limited to damages caused by willful misconduct.

11. Intellectual property

All rights to the Service, its structure, layout, and original content belong to the Administrator or authorized entities. Photographs, logos, and materials belonging to photographers remain their property and are used in accordance with granted consents or applicable law.

12. Changes to the Terms

The Administrator may amend these Terms in the event of:

  • changes in applicable law,
  • functional changes to the Service,
  • development of the Service offering.

The current version of the Terms is always available within the Service. Users with accounts will be notified of material changes by electronic means. Changes take effect no sooner than 14 days after notification.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Swedish law and applicable European Union regulations.
